Florida is choosing a successor to term-limited Governor Ron DeSantis. Eight tickets are on the ballot, plus a write-in line. Republican Byron Donalds, a congressman, runs with state Senator Bryan Avila. Democrat David Jolly, a former Republican congressman, runs with former Congresswoman Gwen Graham. Libertarian Scott Eckhard Jewett runs with Nicole Skelly. Five tickets have no party affiliation: Charles Burkett and Ruben A. Coto, Frank J. Russo and Rachel Rodriguez, Moliere "Moe" Dimanche and Benjiman Rojas, Dean Ocean Abrams and Joe Van Vactor, and Jeffrey "Dr. Jeff" Datto and Juan Santana. Donalds leads the RealClearPolitics average by about 6 points. Recent polls range from a tie to an 11-point Donalds lead. Through October 9, Donalds and his committee had raised about 146 million dollars, Jolly and his about 21 million. Creative Loafing Tampa Bay's editors back Jolly. The Tampa Bay Times editorial board also recommends Jolly, calling him "centrist, practical, a capitalist." The Times laid out Donalds' case, too: that Jolly is a flip-flopper whose insurance plan is a "hurricane tax." Donalds is endorsed by Donald Trump, Governor DeSantis and conservative groups including the Florida Chamber and the NRA. Labor and progressive groups including the Florida AFL-CIO and Equality Florida back Jolly. Research as of October 23, 2026. Sources and the full picture are on this page.

Notes

  • No paid progressive campaign against Donalds found. Equality Florida's Jolly endorsement explicitly contrasts the two. The anti-Donalds ads running in October come from Conservatives for Ethical Leadership, a Lincoln Project–linked group, not a progressive one.
